Biografia das irmãs Happy Hobbit

After volunteering for TheOneRing.net at San Diego Comic Con 2012, I wanted to do something more to contribute to the website that I loved (and, admittedly, checked at least five times a day). We heard so much surprise at our rural lifestyle from friends we made at the convention that I realized that we lived rather like people in Middle-earth and that we could bring some of our knowledge and joy of the land and a fading lifestyle to others. Thus, Happy Hobbit was born!

Before the convention, our friend Justin (who we call Bofur) had started calling me Kili because it sounded like my real name, Kellie. By extension, my sister Alex became Fili. As more images of the characters from the movies were released, it was a happy accident that our colorings matched those of the dwarven siblings, and that I was an archer like my namesake. We grew so used to being called Kili and Fili by the TORn staff that by the time we did see the film, we felt like the dwarves on screen had stolen our names!

Our little web show had been around for less than a year when the trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug came out in June of 2013. As staff, we were asked to send in our reactions, but since we didn’t have time to write anything, Fili decided that we should film it. We posted the video of our excited selves watching the trailer and were shocked that not only the filmmakers saw it, but filmed their Elven actors (Evangeline Lilly, Orlando Bloom, and Lee Pace) watching and reacting in turn! It was a moment that changed our lives forever and led not only to our show getting much more exposure, but to us having the pleasure of being press at the premiere of Desolation of Smaug in December of the same year, which was a wonderful experience we will never forget.

Happy Hobbit is still going strong and we have lots more recipes, crafts, animal knowledge, and mischief to share, so please, feel free to join in the fun!
